Meet Jacob

Jacob Kupin is a neighborhood leader who gets results for District 19.

Like a lot of Nashvillians, he moved here during college and fell in love with the city, starting as a small business owner of an artist management company in the music industry and a volunteer for Proverbs 12:10 Animal Rescue while he was establishing himself in his career. Now married to Hayley, a small real estate team owner, and six cats later, he’s the president of the Historic Buena Vista Neighborhood Association. He also served on the city’s participatory budget committee, which was working to give out $10 million in American Rescue Plan funds in Fall 2023. Jacob also has built and serves on a number of non-profit boards and he was awarded the Sandy Averbuch Leadership Award for his efforts.

Jacob stepped up to serve our community because he believes Nashville isn’t doing enough to build supportive infrastructure after years of rapid growth and wants to see city resources used effectively to move Nashville forward. He’s worked hard with neighbors to improve the area's quality with neighborhood socials designed to bring people together and traffic calming projects that make walking safer. And he pledges not to approve any new projects before the developer has met with the appropriate neighborhood associations and sought buy-in from the community.

“As a council person, I promise to listen to my constituents, be engaged, be collaborative, continue to talk to people and listen, and work tirelessly to represent the people I serve.“

Jacob is the “roll up your sleeves and get it done” type of council member! You can reach out anytime with questions, or concerns, or to get to know him as your local representative.
